DESIGN DISCO CLUB
On the occasion of Paris Design Week, Pli Office presents DESIGN DISCO CLUB, a temporary exhibition at Lafayette Anticipations from September 6 to 12, 2025. DESIGN DISCO CLUB aims to spotlight a new generation of designers and architects who are redefining contemporary creation. Inspired by the free and vibrant energy of the disco movement—and in particular the iconic 1976 song Disco Inferno—DESIGN DISCO CLUB celebrates design as a space of emotion, sharing, and freedom. It is a manifesto for emerging creative voices, at a time when our systems are gasping for air. Disco offers a fertile ground for rethinking the relationship between industrial rhythms and human pace.
Bringing together the work of around forty emerging designers and creators, the project explores our relationship with time—time that shapes our production rhythms, aesthetic choices, and commitments. Whether industrially made, unique, or produced in small series, the objects presented are testimonies to a diverse and engaged contemporary creation, all staged within a scenography by Paf atelier.
Among the artists, thinkers, and designers animating this new kind of club are Uchronia, Soft Baroque, Samy Rio, Petite Friture, Lambert & Fils, François Azambourg, Fabien Cappello, Laurids Galée, Sashaxsasha, and Studio Poirier Bailay…
The exhibition also includes textile artists and designers, as well as fashion houses such as Marine Serre, Dior, Jean Paul Gaultier, Marie-Ève Lecavalier, and Mugler. Each will present emblematic pieces that bridge past and present, embodying the “disco” spirit—bold, committed, and unapologetic.
The exhibition is accompanied by a programme of talks curated by Christopher Dessus in collaboration with Isabelle Moisy-Cobti and the Fonds de Dotation Quartus, centered around three main themes: architecture, design, and fashion. Here, the “club” becomes an open invitation to collectively imagine tomorrow’s creative landscape.
